Preventative Care

The foundation of a long, happy and healthy life for your pets is preventative care. We recommend wellness exams every six to twelve months, with more frequent exams for young or senior pets. Through regular wellness exams and preventative care, we are able to:
  • Develop a trusting relationship with both you and your pet - we believe that your pet deserves to feel calm and safe throughout their vet visit.
  • Monitor pets while they are well to create a baseline of behavior, nutrition, weight, and blood values so we can intervene early when health issues arise.
  • Ensure that your pet’s body is functioning as is should by screening for common health issues before your pets begins showing outward signs of illness.
  • Administer preventative care such as vaccinations and discuss what you can do to keep your pet happy and healthy year round.

Puppies & Kittens

We welcome your puppy, kitten or kit with a longer visit to answer the many questions new pet parents have – you should feel free to pepper us with all of your questions!

You should bring your new pet to see us within 72 hours of bringing them home to make sure they are healthy and transitioning well. We will discuss behavior, vaccinations, parasite prevention, spaying/neutering and any questions or concerns you have. We will also work hard to make your pet comfortable with us to build the foundation for a lifetime of care at Concord Animal Hospital.

Senior Pets

We like to schedule bi-annual visits with our sweet seniors, who are more prone to diseases such as arthritis and heart disease and whose lifestyle and nutrition might need some tweaks as they age. As your pet reaches advanced stages, we are here for you to discuss palliative care. We can help manage pain through drug therapies, acupuncture and other treatments.

If your pet’s pain or discomfort is advancing and you’re concerned about their quality of life, know that all of us at Concord Animal Hospital have been there too and we are here for you. We respect the life of your pet and will partner with you to help make your pet's final days comfortable and joyful. When the time comes, we are here to work with you to give your furry family member the humane and peaceful end they deserve.
