Katherine & Dr. Stephen Wilson, Co-Owners
Katherine & Dr. Stephen Wilson, owners of Concord Animal Hospital (CAH) since 2015, live in Concord with their cat, Smooch, and two amazing children, Johanna and Peter.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Wilson grew up with Jack Russells, Corgis and Basset Hounds. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis, and then he worked in an immunology lab at Children’s Hospital, Boston, with an amazing team whose work was published in Nature Genetics. As a child, he shadowed his brother-in-law, a large animal vet, and fell in love with caring for animals. He considered a few other careers, including wine making and a career in culinary, but was happy to fulfill his dream of becoming a veterinarian after graduating from the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. His wife thoroughly enjoys his superb cooking abilities and occasional home-brewed beer or cider. Katherine grew up Concord, attending Alcott, Sanborn, and Concord Academy. Her family included a rescue dog and cat from Buddy Dog as well as three West Highland Terriers - all patients of CAH. She attended the University of Michigan and worked in finance before attending Tufts University to earn her MA in Education and then teaching at the Concord Middle School. After that, she earned her MBA from Boston College and spent seven years in market research and marketing. She is happy that all of these roles somehow perfectly aligned to prepare her to manage CAH! |
Kathryn Carpenter, DVM, cVMA
Dr. Carpenter grew up on Long Island in Massapequa, NY, but has happily called Massachusetts her home since attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she earned a bachelor of science in biology. She graduated from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 alongside Dr. Wilson and worked at private practices in Revere, South Boston and Arlington before coming to Concord Animal Hospital.
Dr. Carpenter trained at the Curacore Integrative Medicine and Education Center, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, and is certified in veterinary medical acupuncture. She is excited to be able to offer this additional therapy to clients of Concord Animal Hospital as another option to help manage painful and chronic conditions. In her free time, Dr. Carpenter enjoys spending time with family and friends. She lives with her husband and two young daughters. |
Chandler Fritz, DVM
A graduate of Williams College and the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Fritz has been in small animal practice for 18 years. A native of neighboring Carlisle and now a resident of Concord, she loves working in the community where she grew up and is now raising her own family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, walking with her Yorkie and two Labs, reading, golfing and cooking. Dr. Fritz volunteers at a local hospital with Ibby, her seven year old certified therapy dog. |
Bradford Hardie, DVM
Dr. Hardie knew he wanted to be a veterinarian from an early age. In high school, he worked with native wild animals at Drumlin Farm in Lincoln and with community pets at CAH. He received his undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Cornell University. After graduation, Dr. Hardie spent two years in mixed animal practice in Shrewsbury. He decided he had had enough calving distress calls in the middle of the night, so he rejoined CAH, now as a veterinarian.
Dr. Hardie’s long tenure in Concord has allowed him to establish relationships with multiple generations of clients and their pets. Dr. Hardie has a long-standing interest in oral health as well as preventive medicine. He enjoys working through health problems as they arise and establishing the best plan for each patient. When he is not busy at the animal hospital, Dr. Hardie enjoys travelling and hiking with his wife. |
Rhea McCullough, DVM
Dr. McCullough treats cats, dogs and a variety of other small animals and exotics, including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters and gerbils. She completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology at Brandeis University prior to attending the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Medford and now living in Chelmsford, Dr. McCullough grew up in a house with a menagerie that included most of the animals listed above, which helped put her on the path to veterinary medicine. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her pets, friends and family, practicing yoga, and working on a variety craft projects. |
Kaitlin Rondeau, DVM
A graduate of Pine Manor College and the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Rondeau has been in small animal practice for 10 years. She has previously practiced at Middlesex County Animal Hospital and Hudson Animal Hospital before joining the CAH team in the fall of 2020. Dr. Rondeau is a native of neighboring Chelmsford. Ali graduated with a BS in Biology from Salem State University and is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster. She hopes to move on to veterinary school after that - we know she'll be amazing. "I knew I always wanted to work with animals and have been exploring many options! Ali also volunteers at the Sterling Animal Shelter as an adoption counselor. |
Joe Avey, Client Service Representative
Joe has been with the team since before the Wilson's purchased CAH in 2015. He's the one who remembers what prescription food your cat is on and the ear infection your dog had six years ago. He remembers because he cares about your pet! Joe grew up in nearby Marlborough and practiced and taught Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido for a number of years. He is a super Star Wars fan and routs for the Yankees - go figure living in the middle of Red Sox nation. Outside of work, Joe enjoys a good poker game, an occasional Kraken and spending time with his girlfriend and once feral, now relatively tame cat, Milky Way. |
